VISION CARE DIRECT
IECP founded Vision Care Direct to combat large scale vision plans that are making millions by gouging prices at the expense of doctors and patients.
VCD is owned and operated by doctors actively working in the field. What does this mean for you? It means member payments actually go to service providers, not us. We are a small company and we cover our administrative and other associated costs, but our number one priority is not profit, but taking care of patients by looking out for the doctors that take care of them.
Each of our programs operate together to build a network that gives doctors access to a fair-paying vision plan, fairly priced eyewear materials, and discounts and other programs through IECP. Each entity operates independently and can be utilized by eye care professionals in any way and combination they see fit.
We created a lab system that removes the insurance company from the profit wheel and gives it back to you, the doctor. When we asked patients their number one complaint they, said the high cost of their glasses. They feel like the doctors are up-selling things they don’t really need to make a profit. So we built a lab that allows you to bundle the options you want patients to have, like poly, AR and progressive lenses.
For patients that are price sensitive they can choose from one of our private line of frames and pay only their material fee at time of service (typically $15). They can’t beat that price online or at a retail store. And for the patients that want brand name, they are free to choose any frame in your office, pay a small unbundling fee and still get all the lens upgrades. The beautiful part about this scenario is, now the patient feels you have given them a deal and any extra they spend is because they chose a brand name frame. They have a great experience and your office gets full retail price for the frame reimbursement. Lastly, the lab pricing makes it easy for you to create packages to be used for 2nd Pair and Backups for contact lens wearers.

We’ve partnered with 24 state Independent Physician Associations (IPAs) – with more partnering every month – to offer providers a network to get involved in ACOs and PCMHs, discounts with top vendor allies, a doctor-owned vision plan, optometry conferences and services to grow your practice!
We provide access to provider panels, and offer assistance getting involved in ACOs and PCMHs.
